Fried chicken fast food chain Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen plans 18 to 20 new restaurants in the Tampa Bay area in the next five years, in addition to its current 20 area restaurants.

Popeyes plans to hold a roundtable in Tampa on Sept. 14 to share information with potential franchise operators.

The investment for a restaurant including a new building is roughly $750,000, said Vice President of Development Greg Vojnovic.
